Reading the Room: The "Upside" of Better Tables for School Systems

Blog

The concept that better communication among students starts with better tables is sound. It may not resonate equally to every cafeteria monitor, but studies show complementary benefits across the chalkboard.

Simply give students tables that help them see eye-to-eye with well-paired surface shapes and structural designs. In principle, that way they’ll be more likely to eat and socialize with one another without distraction.

Correspondingly give staff members configurable seating that stores and transports smoothly in folded position and sets up and takes down easily with pneumatic-assist and anti-pinch point features. In practice, that’s been proven to reduce the risk of back and hand injuries, and worse—all of which have caused school systems significant monetary losses from table-use injury claims.

Taken together those factors are what BioFit had in mind when developing our current FBT™ Series of Fold & Roll Booths, as well as our EdgeScape Designer table line, AdatpTable™ convertible bench table series, and 10-seat oval tables.

Seating configurations for any setting

Routinely in educational facilities of every description, typical cafeteria tables are pressed into service as temporary classroom spaces in lobbies, hallways, break areas—and sometimes—in the cafeteria itself. If that rings a familiar bell, BioFit has an answer. Specifically in the form of our FBT model tables. This series comes fully prepped for multi-tasking with digital monitor mounts, onboard power-readiness, and USB charging connections built right-in.

These tightly nested models maximize storage space (just 15 linear feet accommodates 10 units) and offer enhanced safety features such as locking casters, pneumatics, and fully finished frames constructed of rugged, 11-gauge steel. Our EdgeScape™ mobile folding table line is just one example, but most include our exclusive adjustable torsion cap, table lift-assist component.

The variety of non-traditional table shapes available through BioFit provide new lessons on integrating spaces in refreshing ways. Many of our K-12 and higher education partners have called on us to help reshape the thinking and expectations that drive areas of one-to-one and group learning sessions through the assistance of non-traditional table-top profiles. We can make it a quick study.

Taking tables to ‘school’ with pride

Bench laminates and patterns are available in a wide selection of colors, and can be customized with logo imprinting and branding marks by request. Configurations are also available for ADA compatibility. All of which make short work out of cleaning and disinfection.

Perhaps even more importantly, many BioFit tables are GREENGUARD Gold certified to meet low chemical emission standards in indoor areas. Made in the USA, these products are proudly manufactured in a facility fully powered by 100% green energy and backed by a 13-year warranty.

Better installations start with BioFit

For learning institutions across the country, Spring is the perfect season to begin planning investments in durable goods for the next school year.

Better tables may not always lead to better table manners. But they can make for a better bottom line—and that’s what really matters.
